What does “Socially Responsible” mean to us?We began with the idea of building a for profit business that provides lower cost or free services to non-profit companies. For the small non-profit companies we serve we offer free labor on service visits and discounted supplies. For the larger non-profit organizations we discount services and supplies. After putting them back into working condition we have given or sold at the cost of repair parts only hundreds of printers that have been retired by our In the 20 years we’ve been in business we have been able to give back in this way nearly $1,000,000.00 to organizations like, The Sierra Club, The Leukemia Lymphoma Society, The San Francisco Food Bank, Project Inform, Bay Area Community Resources, American Conservatory Theater, Stop aids, Senior Access Center as well as a myriad of schools, churches, temples and foundations. Resolution has been compensating it’s employees at a “living wage” for over 19 years. Currently our starting wage is $15.00 per hour. Our employees are offered a 401K program, free medical coverage with a Kaiser PPO, Dental and vision plans and $25 monthly toward health club plans. Field employees receive clothing credits (fixing printers can be a dirty job) and company vehicles. No one earns more than twice the company average wage and profits are split evenly between employees and principles. We follow emission and fuel consumption improvements and replace vehicles when advances warrant it. Our office and warehouse are maintained at green certification standards for Marin County. We work closely with our clients to increase the Green footprint of their printers. 90% or more of the recycled/remanufactured toners/parts we sell are built in the US. Our margins our lower on average of 15% but we feel it makes a difference. We dispose of all waste from parts and toner cartridges through materials recyclers mostly at an additional cost. |
